Respect Yourself

They may say it is not right, or even smart, to judge a book by its cover but its reality. The first glimpse holds drastic weight in the minds of strangers. Everything about you; your gait, the clothes you are wearing and the way your face is set to your emotion can tip a person off on who you really are. Or at least it gives them enough to make a fair judgment on whether you are friend or foe. They may be dead wrong or right on the money, but in either case it is the first impression that has led them to either close your book or delve deeper into the chapters.

Remember that people are not psychic. You should always be aware of how you may be coming off and if it is or is not in accordance with what you want others to perceive. If you don’t want to be seen as a potential easy target then make sure your clothes are in fact clothes and not pieces of cloth by another name. If you are worried that you look to dangerous then smiling and giving off a friendly aura will dispel those kinds of fears. The truth, like beauty, is often in the eye of the beholder. So beware and realize that your reality might very well be different than someone elses.
