Summer is rapidly (and unfortunately!) coming to a close. So why don’t you come celebrate its greatness one last time on September 3, 2010. 336nightlife.com & Greene Street Club, which is located in Downtown Greensboro, is hosting this one-of-a-kind Rooftop Luau Party!

Girls, I know you have those cute Hawaiian dresses you’re dying to break out one last time before the cold winter months. Guys, dig through your closet (or a friend’s!) to find something festive. Ideas include leis, umbrellas in your drinks, and big flower patterns! Show up at Greene Street Club with all your Spring Place neighbors wearing some sort of this attire & receive $2 off of the cover.

Beach-inspired drink specials, Top 40 dance music, and hula-hooping contests will be sure to have everyone enjoying themselves.

Cover is $5 for 21 & up wearing Hawaiian wear. No worries if you don’t have anything Hawaiian - come celebrate anyway! The original cover is only $8. Most of you know that the rooftop is usually only 21 & up, but that’s where this event is different. If you’re under 21 and in a Luau mood, come experience the rooftop for only $10.

Whether you just moved in or have new roommates, this is a perfect time to knock on the doors of your Spring Place neighbors to meet and greet and have a fun night under the stars!

Bargain Shopping in Greensboro

Monday, May 31st, 2010

I know that a lot of us will be moving into a new apartment this fall and you may be wondering where to go to find just the right decorations.  The Super Flea Market at the Greensboro Coliseum is one of the largest in the state and features hundreds of dealers from throughout the Southeast.  The Super Flea Market was established in 1976, and since then it has had a great reputation.  The Market is open for two days each month, and you are sure to find an array of unique items each time you visit.  Dealers sale anything from antiques, jewelry, new items, used items, and  much more.  In 2004 a man bought a pack of postcards from a dealer for seventy-five cents, and later that day the same man stopped by a Super Flea Market exhibitor specializing in autographs.  One of the postcards that the man had bought had been signed by Babe Ruth, thus making the card instantly skyrocket in value.

So if you are looking for some cool and unique decorations for your apartment or room, maybe consider stopping by the Super Flea Market sometime this summer.  You never know what you may find, and who knows it could actually turn out to be something that could make you a little extra cash.
