Kiss to Rock San Antonio

Legendary rock band, KISS is set to perform at the AT&T Center on September 19th  as part of their North American “Hottest Show on Earth” Tour.  These musical superstars, easily identified by their face paint and flashy outfits, have been active since 1973 and are still going strong. Live shows by KISS exhibit many unorthodox features, including fire breathing, smoking guitars, and levitating drum kits.

Fans will be entertained with KISS classics such as “Rock and Roll all Nite” and “Detroit Rock City” along with songs from their latest album, Sonic Boom. The opening acts for the night will be pop punk bands The Academy Is… and The Envy, two outstanding bands who have performed at the Vans Warped Tour on numerous occasions and worldwide tour experience under their belt. This concert will undoubtedly rock!

The school year is just about started at UT - San Antonio and students will soon be saying “goodbye” to summertime and hello to homework, lectures, and assignments. 2. Keep track of everything that you do: Work, community service, and any sort of extracurricular activities are excellent resume’ builders. Record however many hours you’ve completed in these events.

3. Start working on your resume’ now: Waiting till the last minute to scramble and create a resume’ is just not a good idea. If you start now, it will be a less stressful experience in the long run. There are many resources located online and at UTSA to assist you in this endeavor.

“Star Wars in Concert” Coming to San Antonio

Whether you’re a hardcore fan or casual admirer of George Lucas’ legendary space opera, it’s safe to say that Star Wars has left its mark in popular culture since the debut of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope debuted in theaters in 1977. Children dress up as Darth Vader for Halloween, Adults and teens dress up as Stormtroopers in the internationally known fan organization, the 501st Legion, and the saga has even been parodied in FOX’s megahit show Family Guy. On Saturday, June 5th, students in the San Antonio area will have a chance to experience the musical magic of the series in “Star Wars: in Concert” at the AT&T Center.

Concert goers will be treated to a full symphony orchestra composed by the legendary John Williams. The orchestra will play fan favorites such as the Star Wars theme, The Imperial March, and Duel of the Fates. Attendees can also check out various props used in the Star Wars films before and after the concert.
