Attention all SHSU Bearkats, you should clear for schedules for August 24th, 2010 because internationally known rock bands, Story of the Year and Lifehouse will be performing at Johnson Coliseum for the first ever Sammypalooza, an exciting music and food festival guaranteed to entertain students as they bring in the new academic year.
Lifehouse are the Los Angeles based band who produced 2001’s Billboard Hot 100 Single of the Year, “Hanging by A Moment”. They are also known for their other hit singles, “You and Me” and “Whatever It Takes”. Story of the Year is a St. Louis based band whose claim to fame is the 2004 hits, “Till the Day I Die” and “Anthem of our Dying Day”. Both bands have different, but alluring musical styles. Lifehouse is more appealing to an easy listening fan, and Story of the Year will appeal to fans of the pop punk genre. If these headlining bands aren’t your thing, you may be interested in listening to the other artists who will be present at Sammypalooza: Country music superstar, Jack Ingram and Rap artist Chalie Boy.
