HBO has been the home to many series many of us have grown to love in our teen years and now into adulthood. Series such as Sex & The City and Entourage have become a part of our generation’s popular culture. With vampires, witches and werewolves taking over the cinema in movies such as Harry Potter and Twilight, it was only appropriate timing when HBO took these general characters to next level.

True Blood is show about the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional, small town in the state of Louisiana. The series centers on Sookie Stackhouse (played by actress Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress at a bar, who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). True Blood premiered on September 7, 2008, and the first season received critical acclaim and won several awards, including one Golden Globe and an Emmy. Now, in it’s forth season, the plot of the characters in this small town continues to thicken. Eclipse: The Best Twilight Yet?

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

On June 30th the third installment of The Twilight Saga was released in over 4,500 theaters across the nation, and has been estimated to have grossed over $30 million just at the premiere.   Like most people today, surely you have thought of how Eclipse will pan out against Twilight and New Moon.  Well, if you were one of those people, you don’t have to wonder any longer… Eclipse’s reviews have been decent and although it hasn’t had quite the reviews that the first two movies in the series had, the glass is still half full.

Reviews from RottenTomatoes, an online viewer review website, have been almost split down the middle.  One contributor wrote, “This film will not disappoint ‘Twihards,’ and will have everyone bummed that Breaking Dawn is a year and a half away.”  Another contributor felt the exact opposite and said, “Not as deathly dull as Twilight, or as seemingly dull as New Moon, Eclipse is merely dull.”

Regardless of the reviews, the popularity of the Twilight series has most certainly not reached it’s peak.  Twihards continue to chant for Team Jacob and Team Edward as thought they were real, and fans are as extreme as ever.  For more information about Eclipse please visit TwilightTheMovie.com
