If you ask someone what universities in North Carolina they would recommend for an aspiring teacher, they would most likely recommend to you a few, one including UNC Greensboro. UNCG has a outstanding School of Education, and they have had many wonderful educators to come out of their program.
The newest addition to their School of Ed is a $6.9 million federal grant that has made multiple headlines in the Greensboro area. The U.S Department of Education awarded this grant to twelve different programs across the nation. UNCG’s education program is thrilled and honored to have received this grant. Chancellor Linda Brady says, “This grant will support UNCG’s leadership in preparing exceptional teachers, a tradition at the university for almost 120 years. Outstanding teachers, like the ones who will be trained through this program inspire their students. Successful schools are a cornerstone of healthy communities and a vibrant economy.”
Project ENRICH is the program that won UNCG’s School of Education this generous grant. It is designed to train 100 residents, and 375 undergraduate students. They want to recruit a diverse group of candidates to establish a close network within the area. For the full article please visit UNCG.EDU
